SENSITIVE INJURY - A PERSONAL CHRONICLE
As a highly sensitive person who supports and assists other sensitive folk, I've come to recognize and understand a SENSITIVE CYCLE encompassing 3 main phases with a transitional phase shared among them.
You may experience this as an over-arching cycle spanning long amounts of time and also might recognize mini cycles (i.e. daily or weekly) nested within the larger cycle.
I'll share more about the overall cycle in other posts, but here's A PEEK:
CRUISIN' is the optimal cycle stage and our preference would be to operate from this place, always. Here life is a good balance of productivity, play, exploration, and rest. Self-care is attended to and on-point.
Alas, sometimes we slip into an INJURED state due to illness, overwhelm or downright burnout. Then we must shift into a heightened level of self-care and more important... self love.
This can be a tough place to be, and we don't often get a clear idea of how long or how short a visit here will last.
The 3rd stage can be an amazing ally or a seductive temptress leading us for the cliff's edge. This is what I refer to as JAMMIN'. Here we are likely VERY inspired, our creative mojo heightened and we might be in a state of hyper-productivity. If we don't consciously downshift back into CRUISIN' mode we can fall quickly through COMPROMISE into INJURY. Hence the importance of staying awake and aware of where we are the cycle.
I've previously written more on the INJURY PHASE HERE but have never chronicled my own experiences from within this stage.

As of the posting of this compilation - now seven weeks beyond my first video - I'm glad to report that I'm doing well, and believe I am at the CORNER OF COMPROMISE between INJURED and CRUISIN'.
I've come to honor these transitional periods as a state of compromise because they can be tricky. However, when recognized and respected this transitional phase can be a supportive landmark, indicating how to best prepare and plan for gearing up from inactivity or making organizational down-shifts when heading into a trouble spot. To do this well, entails taking time to KNOW YOURSELF. <<< Follow that link for more helpful invitations on that process.
